This session will review repo settings, free, and open source tools you can use on your open source project to help prevent account take overs, and to identify, prevent and disclose security vulnerabilities responsibly. Through this session we'll highlight actionable steps you can take today and share some data and lessons learned from implementing these changes for other open source projects.
About Jose Palafox
Jose is an Application Security Executive for Github. He works with the largest technology companies on the west coast to implement best of breed developer security solutions and in his spare time he works tirelessly to secure API tokens. Jose's held a handful of exciting roles as an architect and engineering manager at Intel he contributed to upstream Kubernetes to support NFV and low latency use cases. As a Product manager for Cisco he helped port Cisco's router operating system to Linux and enable more network automation. And, he was an early employee at Puppet Labs, which pioneered many modern DevOps techniques.
