Better contributor documentation ACROSS open source
2:00 PM - 2:30 PM EST
Open source contributions are commonly measured as changes to source code repositories, centering the story only on code. We created ACROSS as a repeatable, scalable framework for open source communities as an inclusive, sustainable method to show who open source ecosystems rely on.

Audience members will walk away with a better understanding of how current open source research measures contributors and maintainers in open source, the impact of this invisible labor problem, and how ACROSS can be used within their communities to more fully show the people who sustain it.
About Amanda Casari
Amanda Casari is a developer relations engineer in the Open Source Programs Office at Google, where she is co-leading research and engineering to better understand risk and resilience in open source ecosystems. She was named an External Faculty member of the Vermont Complex Systems Center in 2021. Amanda is persistently fascinated by the difference between the systems we aim to create and the ones that emerge, and pie.
